Foreigners Registration Office is the primary agency to regulate the registration, movement, stay, departure and also for recommending the extention of stay in india.

'C' Form For Foreign National Staying on Rent / Lease / Paying Guest:

The Foreigners (Report to Police) order 1971 made by the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Foreigners Act, 1946. As per this order every householder of other persons should report to the FRO Satara Office about the arrival or presence of his household or in any premises occupied by him or under his control of any foreigner. Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of I.P.C. The keeper of the hotel shall, as soon as it may be, but not more than 24 hours after the arrival of any foreigner, transmit a copy of duly completed 'Form C' to the FRO Satara Office.

"Hotel" includes any Boarding House, Club, Dak-bungalow, Rest house, Paying Guest basis, any hostel and other premises of like nature.
